Welcome Back Wildcats

The 2020-21 School Year is Underway!

Message from the HHS Principal

First and foremost, thank you for your patience as we’ve finalized the last few details of the 2020-21 school year. We are excited to reconnect with our Wildcat Families and launch an undoubtedly unique school year!

The first two weeks of school will be 100% Online for all students, and as a campus, we will focus on building relationships, mastering technology, and exhibiting #WildcatPRIDE in the virtual setting - Preparation, Respect, Integrity, Discipline, and Effort.

I realize the times ahead may be filled with moments of uncertainty, but please trust that we will work diligently to meet the standard of excellence and care that we always have. We look forward to providing an innovative and challenging learning experience that better prepares every Humble High School student for the future endeavor of their choice! Most importantly, we are committed to providing the highest quality learning for all students whether we are face-to-face or online.

Please take some time to review the Strong Online Start resources provided below. The resources include 2020-21 learning expectations, Schoology, schedules, curbside meals, and upcoming parent workshops.

Get ready to #ExcelTogether!

2020-21 Online Learning Expectations

Big picture

It's important for parents and students to understand upfront that the online learning expectations are higher in 2020-21. In order to be successful, students must:

  • Log into Schoology EVERY DAY

  • Access learning activities in Schoology EVERY DAY

  • Complete assigned learning activities EVERY DAY

  • Submit learning activities in Schoology EVERY DAY

  • Communicate with teachers EVERY DAY

  • Join "Academic Meet-Ups" with teachers via Zoom EVERY DAY

Students must engage in online learning every day! There is no other pathway to success.

Schoology - Online Learning Platform

In 2020-21, Humble High School will utilize Schoology as our online learning platform. Learning activities for all classes will be visible in Schoology on Tuesday, August 11th at 7:00am.

All HHS teachers will use Schoology to post their classroom materials, teach virtually, allow classroom discussion and collaboration, and stay connected with students and parents. A Schoology Parent Account allows parents to see upcoming assignments, announcements, and grades. Schoology makes it easy for parents to stay involved in their children’s education.

HHS Student Schedules & Online Bell Schedule

To show your #Preparation, please log into HAC on Saturday, August 8th to view your schedule of classes for 2020-21. Unless a student is missing a class or has a course on their schedule they have taken before, schedule changes will not be made within the first 30 days of school.

100% Online Learning - The first two weeks of school will follow an alternating day schedule (shown below). On the first day, students can attend periods 1, 3, 5, 7, and the next day, they can attend periods 2, 4, 6. Students are encouraged to join the virtual "Academic Meet-Ups" with their teachers during the times below. These sessions will be held via Zoom. Teachers will provide the link to their virtual "Academic Meet-Ups" in Schoology. If students cannot join the suggested/encouraged meet-up, they can visit their teacher's website to find alternate times the teacher is available for questions and support.

Students must complete the work assigned in Schoology on a daily basis, whether or not they join the academic meet-up with their teacher.
