Sarah Dunn, Teaching Assistant, Joins CI&E's Team
Sarah Dunn is a Social Designer & Artist practicing in Baltimore, MD. She received her BFA--concentrating in Printmaking & Photography--from the University of Montevallo in 2013, & her MA in Social Design from the Maryland Institute College of Art in 2019. Sarah, discovered her passion for leveraging the design process to address issues of social justice while working within the healthcare system shortly after receiving her BFA. That experience eventually led to her work here as the Teacher's Assistant for this term’s Design Thinking & Innovation course, BA 210, taught by Dr. William Romani.
"I pursued an education and career in Social Design because of its nature as an innovative and interdisciplinary practice. I was frustrated with seeing people deal with the same problems day after day while working in healthcare, and felt that I could best contribute through incorporating creative practices into real-world situations. This sentiment continues to inform my work as I encourage myself and others to inspire positive change through embracing creativity. For this reason, my experience working in Loyola’s Innovation & Entrepreneurship has re-invigorated me as I see Design Thinking being embraced by students. I am grateful for the opportunity and eager to support Loyola’s dedication to positive change through innovation."
