What is standards-based Grading?
What is the standards-based Grading Project?
The standard-based grading project is a series of professional development sessions and extended learning opportunities for district teams that is led by nationally recognized experts in the field and provided at no cost to the participating teams.
The project will support 10 teams. LEAs can have multiple applications for participation. Each team can have up to five participants and must include at least one district-level administrator or coordinator and one campus-level administrator. The remaining team members are at the LEA’s discretion and could include counselors, instructional specialists, or department chairs.
The professional development sessions and extended learning opportunities will explore the concept of standards-based grading, implementation, common problem areas, and improving grading and reporting at the school and classroom levels. Each session will include time for teams to meet together and plan. A coaching session will be available in the spring to support teams as they prepare to implement standards-based grading practices in their schools.
Session dates:
November 13, 2014
December 18, 2014
January 29, 2015
May 14, 2015
The application deadline is Friday, October 24, 2014. Campuses will be notified of acceptance into the project by October 28, 2014. For more information, please contact Amy Doolan at adoolan@esc4.net or 713.744.6337.
