FALCON'S NEST
February 10th
Good Afternoon Armstrong Community,
We are off to a busy start in semester 2 here at Armstrong. Hats off to our Fine Arts department for all of their hard work as they represented Robbinsdale Area Schools at the Northwest Suburban Conference Music Festival. It was my pleasure to be there to cheer on our students and their amazing performances. Congratulations to the Boys Nordic Ski team and as they will represent Armstrong at the State tournament. We also want to wish our Girls Hockey team good luck on Saturday as they compete against Wayyzata in the Quarterfinals. Our theater department has been hard at work preparing for their performances for Cinderella, we are excited to see the show! We also have ten Armstrong students showing their artwork at the Northwestern High School art show at North Hennepin Community College, if you have a chance stop by the gallery to see our students' art work. We also hope you have time to view our Culture, Community and Connections newsletter as we feature Black History Month.
I did want to share with you all of our pictures from our visit from the State Capital on Tuesday. Dr. Anne Beaton, Tim Lloyd, and myself had an opportunity to testify in front of the House and Senate Education Committees. We shared with the committee members information about the BARR Program that we utilize here at Armstrong. We have implemented the BARR program at Armstrong for the past 4 years and we have seen incredible growth in academic progress, student sense of belonging, student participation in school activities, and increased graduation rates. I am very proud of all our support staff and teachers who are impacting and improving our students' experience here at Armstrong. It was truly an honor to represent Armstrong at the state capital!
Go Falcons!

Northwest Suburban Conference Music Festival
On Monday and Tuesday our fine arts department was busy at the Northwest Suburban Conference Music Festival. The first day our students had an opportunity to perform and be given feedback from a professional clinician. Then the event was capped off last night with students, that were named all-conference, from all 14 conference schools performing . Here is the link https://www.youtube.com/live/jSYPDu6uX3A?feature=share to view the finale of last night's NWSC Music Festival where the all conference band, choir, and orchestra performed. Great performances to all our students that participated in the two day event and congratulations to our all conference performers who performed last night.
Tickets for the winter musical performances will begin on Monday, Feb 13. When purchasing tickets you will select your seats.
Tickets can be purchased online or using the Armstrong Box office online system at the admissions booth at the show.
We highly encourage purchasing tickets ahead of the performance date.
