SHISD Mid-Week Message
Promoting Great Things in a Great School District
Celebrating College Credit earned on AP Exams
Encouraging more students to enroll in AP courses is a priority for SHISD. Typically AP courses are offered at the junior and senior level. SHISD students can take pre-AP classes as a sophomore or a freshman. Here are some SHISD AP data:
· Roughly 35% of upper class students at Spring Hill are enrolled in AP classes.
· The number of students taking an AP class is up 40% since 2011.
· A Record 156 AP exams were administered in 2015; up 150% since 2011.
· 50% of students scored a 3 or higher on their AP exam; up 11% from 2014.
With every great student is a great team of teachers, counselors, administrators, and parents. Thank you to all who have contributed to the success of our students. Congratulations to all of our AP Scholars!

- Dear Mr. Lind (and the others from the “Balloon Brigade”) WHAT a surprise I found upon returning from my daughter’s dance class last night! What FUN! THANK YOU for making my son's evening—as well as, the rest of ours!!!! We are SO PROUD of him and his accomplishments--and we are also SO THANKFUL to be a part of Spring Hill! GO PANTHERS GO!!! THANK YOU!!! THANK YOU THANK YOU! (We are still GRINNING like Cheshire cats…) We SOOOO appreciate your kindness! Have a great day!!!! Sincerely, Spring Hill Parent PS…I’m TOTALLY BUMMED I missed it…(I have absolutely rotten timing…but HOW COOL!!)
- Mr. Snell, I just wanted to throw a quick shout out to our business office. I have noticed that the turn around time for PO's and checks has been really quick this year. I have turned in several items recently and had a PO or check in 1 to 2 days. Stephanie has a great system in place to streamline the process and Barbara sends out routine emails to let us know when items are approved. This is really making business easy from my standpoint. I also appreciate you and Cathy with all of the help getting Mr. Robinson hired! - Mr. Kiser
- Gloria Willeford consistently goes the extra mile in her new position as HR Specialist in the business office. In addition to her regular duties, she has worked diligently to learn all about her HR position including compassionately assisting three employees with Family Medical Leave participation and paperwork. During the past month, she has developed the documentation for Time & Effort reports, School FIRST and the HR portions of the annual audit. Gloria is quiet and reserved and does not seek personal recognition. Thank you to Gloria Willeford for truly caring for our SH family! -Barbara
- Panther Family, Marty Giles is still in the hospital and could use some prayer and well wishes as she continues her health battles.
