Principal's Message
Dear Families,
As our school year winds down, TPS staff remain committed to leading with courage and love. We will continue to ensure all students are seen, heard, known and supported. Showing Responsibility, Ownership, Academic Effort and Respect will help us promote a positive school environment. A focus on growing our brain, heart and body power will continue to be our daily mission.
The bus is one area where our ROAR Expectations have become increasingly important, as we have seen a rise in disrespectful and unsafe behaviors on the bus. All students have been reminded that riding the bus is a privilege and it is expected that they contribute to a safe and respectful ride to/from school. Students are expected to remain seated at all times, keep hands/feet to themselves and use a quiet talking voice with those next to them. We appreciate you reinforcing these expectations with your child(ren).
May will offer us many exciting times for celebration and appreciation. We hope your family takes time to participate in...
- Frederick Keys Family Fitness Challenge - May 1-7
- Children Mental Health Acceptance Week - May 1-7
- Teacher Appreciation Week - May 2-6
- TEPS PTA Meeting - May 12
- Evening of the Arts - May 19
Be sure to look for our Cougar Celebrations Newsletter where we will recognize Golden Spoon Award Winners & ROAR Recognition Cards Recipients!
Yours in education,
Michele Baisey

Field Day Volunteers
Field Day for all grades will be on Friday, June 3rd.
We will need lots of volunteers to make Field Day a huge success this year! If you volunteer, please know that we have inside stations, outside stations and water stations. Write on the form if you have a preference. We need 60 volunteers. (Rain date will be Monday, June 6)
We would prefer that you stay for the whole day, but we realize that some parents are unable to do that. You do have the option to volunteer for a half day. You will need to arrive at 8:30am. promptly in the gym to receive your instructions for the activities. If you are working only in the afternoon, you will need to be in the gym by 12:30pm.
Please sign up on the volunteer form (linked here, pictured below and sent home with your child last week) by Friday, May 20th. You won’t receive a phone call. Please just show up at the designated time. Please note that no siblings are allowed to come. Thanks for your understanding.
Any questions, you may call Mr. Barnhart (240-236-2822) or email christopher.barnhart@fcps.org
