Progress Reports

Progress reports will be issued on February 8.

Please take this time to review your academic progress and attendance. Students who would like a reduced schedule in the 2022-2023 school year should remember that your grades and attendance from this semester will determine your eligibility.

Map Testing Scores

Map Testing scores for 9th graders will be coming home soon! Ask your Bobcat if he/she met their goals for Reading or Math!

ACT DAy

All Juniors will take the ACT at school on March 1. Seniors who are taking the test should have already registered with their counselor. Additional information will be available soon.

National School Counseling Week

This week is National School Counseling Week! This is a time to show our appreciate for the work that is being done by our School Counselors. The goal at Overton is to provide boutique counseling that is designed to make sure that all of the students' needs are being met. Our Academy Counselors assist with curriculum, individual student planning, responsive student services, and guidance toward indirect services. Additionally, Overton provides a variety of counselors who can assist all students, from Freshman to Seniors, with post-secondary planning. Keep an eye on our social media this week to see how Overton Counselors make a difference!

February 18 is scheduled for half a day of teacher conferences. Save the date - more information will be available soon,

AICE Diploma

Attention 11th & 12th grade Cambridge students who may be eligible for the AICE Diploma. Information about the AICE Diploma and how to apply for it can be found here: AICE Diploma Info & Application. The school is covering the fee, so there is no cost to you. Deadline is Thursday, February 10. Email James.Trotter@mnps.org with any questions.

The Brothers Grimm Spectaculathon

Get ready for our next great theater production, February 24, 25, 26, & 28. Shows start at 7 and tickets are $6 on GoFan.

“The Brothers Grimm Spectaculathon” cleverly interweaves a large portion of the Grimm Brothers’ 209 stories into one fast-paced, complex, and quite hilarious production. The Spectaculathon began with two narrators, who introduced a cast of enchanting characters and a plot with surprise twists.

ACT Prep Classes

Every Wednesday in January and February, an ACT expert from MNPS will deliver a one-hour ACT prep lesson on one of the seven different aspects of the test. The sessions will help to prepare high school juniors who will take the test at school in March, and they are no cost to students or families.

The ACT Now! webinars will be delivered via Microsoft Teams and will also be uploaded to the MNPS YouTube channel.

DEADline this Friday, February 11- Cap & Gown

It is time to order your cap & gown!

The cap, gown, tassel, and stole are ordered as a package and the total cost is $41 (which includes TN sales tax). Additional keepsake tassels can be ordered on the site.

Gowns are sized by height/weight. Please be sure that you are ordering the correct size as we can not exchange/return the gowns once they are received. If you need assistance with sizing, contact Deirdre.Demana@mnps.org, Samuel.Montoya@mnps.org, or Ashley.Rivera@mnps.org

Because the orders are customized, the deadline to order is February 11. Orders will be delivered to the school in late April/early May for distribution.
