Audience:
EFL / ESL teachers who are interested in the topic.
Skills
Participants are not expected to have any prior technological knowledge. However, basic experience of internet and e-mail are welcome.
YOU WILL NEED
a smartphone, Itouch or tablet (IOS or Android)

OBJECTIVES
experience online learning.
read several articles about MLearning.
participate in discussion forums.
explore different apps for ELT.
write an app review.
exchange ideas with other professionals.
devise a lesson sequence or an activity incorporating new apps (collaborative task).
COURSE CONTENT
Mobile Learning advantages and challenges.
Apps and webtools to explore (this content will be built with participants' help throughout the course).
Frameworks for Mobile Learning.
Mobile Learning case studies.
Ways to evaluate educational apps.
Lesson plans integrating Mobile Learning.
Digital Spaces: Google +, Google Docs, Issuu, Lino.it, List.ly.
TIMETABLE
The course will cover 4 weeks from the start date.
Participants are expected to spend around 5-6 hours per week reading articles, participating in discussion forums and developing individual and group work. There are some optional tasks to those who wish to move further.
THE MODERATORS
Ana Maria Menezes is an EFL teacher, teacher developer, online moderator and the technology coordinator at a Language Institute in Brazil. She holds an M.A. in Applied Linguistics, in the area of teacher development in virtual environments. She also writes about new learning possibilities at her blog LIFE FEAST and has organized her work in two ebooks for EFL teachers: Webtools applied to teaching and Developing the 4 Skills with Webtools. She has co-moderated several EVO sessions and has given talks at International Conferences. Her Visual CV.
EVALUATION and CERTIFICATION
Participants will be invited to self-evaluate their learning and performance during the course.
A CERTIFICATE will be issued to participants who cover 80% of the proposed activities.
