Message from the Principal
Dear Knights,
1st week of school is in the books! What a great 1st week of school!! We had some minor bugs but we were able to problem solve and continued to be excellent. I hope your children are happy, had a wonderful 1st week of school and are looking forward to a great school year. Thank you so much for being flexible and following my communications. It is very much appreciated.
Curriculum Knight
Curriculum Knight is on Thursday, July 29, 2021 from 5:30pm - 8:00pm. We will start the night in the gym as a whole group. We will take care of some housekeeping, introduce key personnel and then release to the classes to follow your student's schedule to meet with the teachers.
Parent Roundtables
One of my goals is to increase two way communication between families and the school. To that end, I would like to continue hosting Parent Roundtables monthly. Please complete this short survey to indicate some preferences on time and mode of these meetings.
Dress Code
We will begin enforcing dress code beginning Monday, July 26, 2021. This year, we intend to create an understanding of our dress code that conforms with generally accepted standards of professional dress. As concepts of what constitutes professional dress change over time, I intend to engage the community in annual reviews of the dress code to ensure all parts still comport with general standards of professionalism. Please make sure that students are following the dress code policy.
Cell Phones
Students are not allowed to have their phone on during the school day i.e., the moment they enter the campus until the final bell rings.

Student Pick up and Drop Off Guidelines
As you are aware, the 1st day of school did not go very well. We immediately came together to find solutions and designated grade level areas and that solved a lot of the issues. Today, I asked Chandler PD to come out to assess our situation to make sure that we were following all of the recommendations as well as for them to guide us in any other ideas to better serve our community during these times. They were overall impressed with the flow once the students were released but due to many parents arriving prior to the dismissal time, cars were double parked and/or blocking intersections which they advised will result in a ticket being issued. It also presents problems for emergency vehicles from accessing the neighborhood to address any emergencies. So, I request that parents come no earlier than 2:40pm to pick up students. If you need to come earlier, please use our large visitor/parent parking area to park and wait for release of students. I asked for them to be on site again on Monday to reassess with this change. I look forward to a better traffic pattern with this change implemented.
Quarter 1 Sports- Baseball, Girls Volleyball, and Coed Flag Football
We are excited to start our first season of ACP Athletics. All athletes should bring sport appropriate clothes to tryout in which do not bear the name or logo of a club team. Water will be provided, but we ask athletes bring their own water bottles to cut down on waste from paper cups. Those who do not want to share a common water source should plan accordingly and bring a larger water bottle.
Following the last bell athletes should quickly dress out. Volleyball will report to the gym floor, and baseball and football will report to the ramada in the central courtyard. Athletes will be able to store their gear in the locker rooms in the morning, but lockers will not be assigned until students make the team. The school does not take any liability for equipment left in the locker room prior to the assignment of locks.
Tryouts will end at 5:00 for all sports. Football and volleyball players will be picked up at Erie campus, and baseball will be picked up at Chandler High School on the field at the corner of Erie and Hartford.
All rosters will be announced on Wednesday evening via the method prescribed by the sport's coach. Parents of students who make the team are asked to attend a parent meeting at 4:00 on Thursday, 7/29. At the meeting you will receive important information, including the game schedule. Following the meeting, you will go to your child's practice location for a sports-specific meeting with your child's coach. Please note, this is also the date of our curriculum night so all sports meetings will be concluded by 5:00.
Students who make a team will be charged a $20 activity fee. State tax credit money may be applied to the fee, and instructions regarding how to do so will be sent out following the announcement of rosters. Students will not receive their team uniform and sport t-shirt until fees are paid. Please contact Fred DePrez if you would like to request a fee waiver due to hardship.
Practice times are subject to change, but are currently planned as follows:
Baseball: Monday-Thursday, 3:00-5:00 (CHS)
Football: Monday-Friday, 3:00-5:30 (Erie)
Volleyball: Monday-Friday, 3:00-5:00 (Erie)
Again, thank you for supporting ACP Athletics! Go Knights!
