Let's find ways to get moving and stay active and healthy.
SAVE THE DATE: 8th GRADE CELEBRATION
Monday, June 6th: 6:30 pm @ Canby High School Main Gym
Thank you to the parents who have reached out to offer to help. At this time we have it covered. If help is needed we will reach out.
State Testing April 11th - 15th
Next week we begin state testing for all students. 7th Graders will be taking the Math and Language Arts Tests and 8th Graders will be taking Math, Language Arts and Science. Here are a few reminders that will make the experience more effective and less stressful for everyone.
Students will be taking the tests using their school issued iPad.
Students should charge their iPad all night the night before. Students will not have time to charge it once they get to school.
Students will be testing in their core subject area classes but attend their Art/Band/Drama/Music and PE/Health classes.
Students should plan for a good night’s sleep all week and eat a good breakfast each morning. Remember that school breakfasts are free and available to all students.
We will provide headphones for all students who need them.
Students should bring something to work on when they finish (book, drawing, homework). It must be an activity that is quiet and does not involve electronics.
Students should leave all personal electronics at home or in their locker. No personal electronics are allowed during testing. Violations of this rule may result in the student’s test being invalidated. This includes phones, smart watches, and personal tablets.
FREE IMMUNIZATION CLINIC
The Oregon Health Authority requires all children to have up-to-date immunizations or an exemption by a certain date each year to stay enrolled in a public or private school. For the 2021-22 school year, that date is April 20.
To help students get up to date, Canby School District is hosting a free immunization clinic for students under 18 who are on the Oregon Health Plan or do not have health insurance. In addition to school-required immunizations, COVID-19 vaccines will also be available to all at no cost. The clinic will take place at Ackerman School on April 11 from 4-7 p.m.
