News from Ms. Hess
Thank you to all of the families that brought in treats and snacks for our kids this week!! They really appreciated counting on a break, including some fun minute to win it games, during the long day of testing!
Makeup testing will be done on Monday and Tuesday next week.
Students spent time this week showing what they know on the Iowa Statewide Student Progress Assessments.
We were able to learn about a fun form of poetry called Blackout Poetry, and then had the created Blackout Poems of our own. We took newsprint, selected words to create a poem, and blacked out all other words to create a new meaning of our own. We developed our skills of developing theme by titling our poems. See the link below for more information.
In math, we continued to work on classifying polygons by sides and angles including triangles and quadrilaterals.
REMINDER: NEXT WEEK IS A FULL DAY WEDNESDAY! We will be visiting the Colonial Manor nursing home to share poetry in the afternoon as well as create a collaborative poem.
IXL Practice for Math: BB1 - 9 and PRODIGY GAME!
