CHHS Cross Country for 2016-2017
Parents are welcomed to our CHHS Cross Country Parent Meeting on Thursday, April 28th. This is an informational meeting for all parents of incoming runners. The meeting is also for any parent who has even the slightest inkling for their child to join the Cross Country program at CHHS. There will be a pasta dinner provided by the Cross Country Booster club parents in the CHHS Library from 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm.
Most kids have this belief that if they aren’t already performing at an elite level in middle school, they are no good and should not consider running in high school. What the cross country program is looking for is not necessarily tied to a students’ running past but what they have the ability to work towards. CHHS Cross Country searches for the absolute student: someone who strives to be better everyday and every time an opportunity presents itself. Cross Country aims to teach children the ability to stand on their own two feet while you, the parent, has full confidence your child will give extra effort for any endeavor the set out to achieve. Every runner starts at the most basic level and is given their own chance to get to work as much as they desire regardless of how fast or slow they run.
CHHS Cross Country practices during the summer; “Fall holds no secrets on how summer was spent.” We plan on being a competitive program. We begin practice on Monday, June 6th. Practice is from 8:00 am to around 9:00 am, Monday to Saturday. Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays are at The Villages of Bear Creek Park. Tuesdays and Thursdays are at Parr Park. Saturdays are at CHHS.
Again, please come join us at our meeting, Thursday, April 28th, at CHHS’s Library as we discuss the future of the Cross Country program, the positive impact your child will have on the program, and the positive impact the program will have on your child.
