Apple Dumpling Time

Life and Family Services

Mix and Roll time!!

It's that time of the year again! We are prepping for the yummy Apple Dumplings!

Can you lend a hand? We really need many hands on deck to make the work light for everyone. 7,200 dumplings is what we are planning to assemble for the festival. That is nearly 500 pounds of lard and 1,250 pounds of flour. So again I ask, CAN YOU LEND YOUR HANDS FOR A BIT OF TIME.

Wednesday, August 2nd we will be making the Apple Dumpling dough.

Where: St. John's Lutheran Church

Times: 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. This will be split into two shifts. If you have a couple of hours to spare, just give me a call and let me know, Someone else may be available to fill the other time. YES, we need men too! We need someone, two or three, to lift the large bowl all day while we are making the 85 batches. We also need some men to assist around 4:00 with loading the truck to take the dough to cold storage.

Monday, August 7 @ 8 a.m. - 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. - 8 p.m.

Tuesday, August 8 @ 8 a.m. - 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. - 8 p.m.

Wednesday, August 9 @ 8 a.m. - 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. - 8 p.m.

Where: Bethel Christian Baptist Church - near the intersection of US 6 and US 9 north

We will be rolling the dough and cutting them into squares. This process takes 3 days, 6 shifts, and many hands to finish this part of the project. It would be awesome to have 20-25 people at each session. This may sound hard, but most of the rolling is done by a machine and each person just finishes it, cuts them and places them on the wax paper squares.
