The Mustang Minute
September 21, 2018 - Issue 3
Start with Hello
All week we will be doing activities that highlight what students should look for to identify loneliness in others, building their level of empathy for their peers, and helping them develop the skills they need to reach out to students that might feel left out or lost at school. Our goal with this initiative is to create an inclusive environment for all students.
This program was developed by The Sandy Hook Promise and will be taking place at a variety of schools all over the country next week. We will have an assembly on Tuesday afternoon sponsored by the foundation. I will include a parent information pamphlet with the newsletter and more will be available during open house this Tuesday night.
Next week - ask your student how can they "Start with Hello" to make CMS an inclusive place to go to school!
Open House Tuesday!
Here at CMS we believe meeting with parents is very important and will work with you to make sure that you get to meet your child's teacher.
It is also important to note that this is not a parent conference and teachers will not be able to discuss individual children on this night. If you need to meet with your child's team before parent conferences in November you can contact your guidance counselor.

Don't forget to send the user agreements signed and back into school. We cannot give your student a Chromebook until we receive this signed agreement. We will also have copies of the agreement in Portuguese, Spanish, and French available.
