Mr. Jace Gobble
Hello! I’m Jace Gobble, Middle School Counselor for our MIST program at North Central High School. I am so excited to support our incoming 6th and 7th grade students, as well as our returning 8th graders! As the MIST school counselor, I will be supporting students in a variety of ways with a focus on helping students build strong skills related to their academic success, social and emotional development, and college and career readiness as they prepare for their future endeavors.
As a Washingtonian and Spokane local, I take great pride in serving our students and families in our amazing community. I received my Master's in Education in School Counseling from Whitworth University and previously worked at North Central as a School Community Specialist focusing on student and family engagement. I am passionate about building positive and meaningful relationships with all students, families, and school staff as we work together to promote a great school climate with successful outcomes for all our students.
When I am not working, I enjoy spending time with my wife Bethany and our baby boy Noxon, as well as spending time with good friends, playing sports, listening to and playing music, exploring new places, eating the great food here in Spokane, and hiking trails throughout the Great Pacific Northwest.
I will be available beginning the last week of August to help answer any questions you may have by phone at 509.354.6383 or email at jaceg@spokaneschools.org.

Announcements & Updates
Welcome Back Events
MIST New Student Orientation - Monday, August 22nd, 10 AM
NC students will lead activities for anyone new to the IST (including new 8th graders). The orientation is for students only and will include games, a school tour, information about how to get involved at school, answers to frequently asked questions, and more!
MIST Open House - Tuesday, August 30th, 5:30 PM
All students, families, and staff of the MIST are invited to attend our Open House and Family Social. This event will include building tours, meeting with IST teachers and the leadership team, and time to connect with other students and families in the program. NEW: Students will receive their PE and academic locker assignments at the Open House, with time set aside to find and decorate lockers. Plan to bring materials to decorate the locker and items students might need on the first day of school so they're not overwhelmed with carrying everything at once. More details to come!
Launch Conferences - September 1st and 2nd
All families are invited to sign up for individual conferences on September 1st and 2nd with teachers. This is a great time to get to know more staff at the school, share individual concerns or feedback, and work together to set up your child for success here. Please plan to sign up for a conference when the directions links go out in mid-August. Individual building walkthroughs for students who would like them can also be scheduled on these days.
Summer Assignments Details
- Summer Science for Grade 6

Students who have completed the activities are asked to bring in their notes during the first week of school. If you're not able to get this done, don't worry! There will be many other opportunities for enriching and fun learning while you're in the MIST.
