First Day of School

First Day of School

We are so excited that tomorrow we can welcome our students to Tarvin Elementary School's first school day!


Doors open at 7:20, and the tardy bell will ring at 7:40. Parents will be able to walk their students to class during the first two days of school. Starting on Monday, Aug. 16th, everyone will need to check in at the front desk before entering the building.


Dismissal will be at 2:45 on Thursday and Friday. Please be patient with the process. It will take time for everyone involved to learn the system, and the car rider lines will improve.


We are not allowing any visitors to eat lunch with students at this time. As things improve, we will inform you when visitors can begin eating lunch with us.

Virtual Learning

Those that were accepted on the waiting list of virtual school will receive information from your teacher next week. Virtual school is through LISD so you may not have a Tarvin teacher. The first day of virtual school is Aug. 19th.


If you have a PreK student, you will receive an email from the district explaining your options by Friday.

You can also look up your address on Infofinder or can call transportation at 512-570-0700 and select option 1.


If you are parking and walking your child in the building, please park in the middle lot.
