How We Created This Event
Step One: Found a place to host our event. We were very blessed that Bluegrass Way not only hosted “Senior Prom” but that they worked with us every step of the way to make the night perfect.
Step Two: Came up with a theme and gathered decorations, food, music, etc. that fits it. Our theme was “Dancing through the decades. We had 50’s and 60’s themed decorations, and snacks. We also played music from those decades, and had dancers come in and present a dance from the 60’s. Note: You do not have to buy all the decorations. Most of our decorations were items we already had or items we had donated.
Step Three: On day of “Senior Prom” we showed up that morning and decorate four our event space and made sure everything is prepared for that night. On the morning of our project we met at Bluegrass Way at 9:3o am and decorated for that night.
Step Four: Had fun at our event. This is the easiest part and where all our hard work paid off. We mingled and danced with the residents, drank some punch, and just had fun.
Senior Prom Gives back
“Senior Prom” was beneficial to our community because our project allowed us to give the residents of Bluegrass Way a night they will remember, but it also gave our community a chance to give back to citizens who had already given so much of themselves to the community.
Results...
The best part of “Senior Prom” was how happy our event made the residents of Bluegrass Way. Throughout the night they could not stop smiling and dancing and when “Senior Prom” was over almost all of the residents thanked us for hosting the event for them. It was truly heartwarming how gracious the residents were that we put on this event.
