TEACHER APPRECIATION WEEK
Many thanks to our EV community for your kind thoughts and generosity during Teacher Appreciation Week. The notes, the photos, the videos, the gifts, the cards, and the Wish List donations were all so very appreciated. Special thanks to Mrs. Beth Boylan for chairing the week-long celebration and to our PTA board for their continued support.
2020 OJRSD PARENT/GUARDIAN CLIMATE SURVEY
Each year, Dr. Lloyd, the Superintendent of Owen J. Roberts School District, seeks your feedback. So far, 47% of East Vincent families completed the survey. We hope you will consider sharing your thoughts today.
A SPECIAL MESSAGE FROM THE LAFOUNTAIN FAMILY
Have you driven by East Vincent Elementary School lately? Kindergarten teacher, Mrs. LaFountain, and her family shared a special message with our EV community of learners.
ART GOES TO SCHOOL (VIRTUALLY)
Each year, our students enjoy an "Art Goes to School" experience, but sadly, East Vincent Elementary School students did not. Many thanks to Art Goes to School Chairperson, Sue Trout, for sharing the following information with us.
We have all of the artwork posted on our website under the tab, Gallery 2019-2020:
https://artgoestoschoolojr.myfreesites.net/
Some of the things that we talk about are what they like or dislike about certain pieces; if they like it, why, if not, why not. It helps them to look a little more closely. We talk about colors, patterns, foreground, middle ground, and background, among many other things. Since you are in the classroom, when we present, you may remember some of the past discussions. I like to ask them what piece they would like to have in their home and where they would display it. It's also been fun to talk about outdoor murals; sometimes they've actually seen the ones we are presenting because all of the featured murals are in Philadelphia.
The students could also pretend to be the people we sometimes see in Art Museums reproducing fine art and share their artwork to be displayed on the Art Goes to School website.
EV STAY CONNECTED CHALLENGE: MAY 11-MAY 17
Keep an eye on EV social media for ways to stay connected with our EV community of learners. Use #WeLoveEastVincent to post your pictures (we can only see your posts if you share to EV page OR if you make your personal posts public).
