Dear Parents:
This week your child will be taking the i-Ready Math and Reading assessments to provide information for teachers to know where your child is performing in these areas. These assessments provide important formative assessment to teachers to understand your child’s strengths and challenges in these areas and help to provide data so they can best prepare lessons to meet your child’s needs.
These assessments will take place on Tuesday and Wednesday this week and we ask that your child be on time and meet promptly at the beginning of the day in their advisory classes for the assessments. They will have a bit of a modified schedule on these two days to allow for the testing. Please also make sure your child brings their chrome books with them, fully charged, so they are prepared for success.
Thank you for your assistance as we get through the testing smoothly and with much success. Have a wonderful week ahead.
Sincerely,
Dr. Daniels
SERIOUS CONCERN THAT PARENTS NEED TO BE AWARE OF:
Many of our students have been following a Tik Tok video put out by screen name:
These videos encourage destruction of toilets in public and school restrooms and some of the acts have been replicated in our boys’ restrooms.
STUDENTS WHO ARE FOUND TO BE CAUSING DESTRUCTION WILL BE DEALT WITH BY SERIOUS CONSEQUENCES INCLUDING REPARATIONS.
FPD has been notified of the vandalism and destruction of school property that has been happening in the boys’ restrooms, particularly during the lunch time periods. We would appreciate parents speaking to your children about the seriousness of the choices that they may be making. It is an issue that parents will be notified about if your child is involved.
Thank you for helping us to send a serious message to students about the concerns of destruction. We also ask that parents please monitor your child’s activity on social media.
TEACH DIFFERENT
Parents,
We’ve recently reviewed a 3-Step conversation method created by a company called Teach Different.
For those of you who are looking for a way to have better conversations with your child, please watch this short video - https://youtu.be/Ade1_aG7hDI -- and reply back to me with a "Yes" if you would like the school to provide it as a resource.
Thanks!
VOLUNTEERS
While the district is not encouraging volunteers for indoor activities parents are welcome to volunteer to help with campus monitoring during lunch and/or throughout the day on campus. Are you interested? You will need to go through the district to meet the requirements of a CAT 2 Volunteer but we would welcome your help. Please contact the office if you are interested. Thank you!
ATTENDANCE CODES
Thank you for your support as we all work through this protocol together. It is a time- consuming task.

Early Dismissal & Late Arrival
Early Dismissal
- Please send in a note with your student explaining the reason for dismissal and what time you will be picking him/her up. When the student arrives to school, have them come to front office with note to collect the pass.
- Your Student will then be given a yellow slip/pass to leave class at that specific time, which the staff at FMS is familiar with.
- You will then meet your student in the front office.
Late Arrival
All students should come through the front office to collect a pass to go to class. If it's an excused absence, please include a note from the parent or a doctor's note. You do not need to accompany your student into the front office as long as he/she has a note.
Thank you for accommodating this request. We have these procedures to ensure the safety of your children at school.

This week, you will receive an email with a link to your student's unique pledge page. Simply click the link to make a donation to your student's unique pledge page, and share your student's link with others. We are shooting for 100% participation so no amount is too small.
