Pictures from Community Link Christmas Pick up

What a humbling experience our NJHS, Builder's Club, and Renaissance Team students had serving our community! They were in charge of placing all of the food that was being donated to families in their cars through a drive through process. We have such great students with servant hearts. Thank you, Jennifer Smith, Christie Warden, and Danny Knowles for your leadership!

We have had our first blue tooth speaker purchased from the Badger Store for 1,000 Badger Bucks! Congratulations, Christian Davis for working hard and earning all those Badger Bucks! Teachers, please continue to use these as an incentive for your students. We have some great items for the students to purchase and students want to earn the bucks so they can spend them.

Badger Business

  • We will conduct shut-down STAAR like benchmarks on February 3rd and 4th. We will treat these 2 testing days like we would treat the STAAR so that we can work out all of the kinks before the actual STAAR testing days and it will also provide valuable feedback for our students and teachers. 2/3 we will test 7th Writing and 8th Math. 2/4 we will test 8th Reading. Christie Warden is our testing coordinator and she will be communicating with us as those days get closer.
  • We are in need of a female teacher that is willing to attend Camp Goddard with 50 of our 6th grade students March 21st - March 25th. If you are interested, please contact Anthony Valle. This is a great and fun opportunity for all involved!
  • Adopt a Board Member- if you are involved in spoiling our Adopted Board Member, Dick Elkins, please remember all items need to be to Ashley by, Monday, January 18th. Our theme for him is Superman! Thank you to all that are helping with this. If you aren't involved and would like to be, please let Ashley know. We could always use some extra help.
  • It has come to my attention that 10 of our new Dell Laptops are having hard drive issues. It appears that they aren't being taken care of so please make sure when you check them out for your students to use that you remind your students to be very careful and to not drop them when using them and turning them in.
  • As I mentioned in an email on Monday, 1/4, our MSTAR assessment has been rescheduled. The dates are: Wednesday, 1/20 - 7th grade, Friday, 1/22 - 8th grade, and Monday, 1/25 - 6th grade. Both computer labs will be used those 3 days. Please pay attention to the bell schedule below that we will follow. There will be no advisory for those 3 days.
  • Please make sure you have printed your semester exams and have all accommodations ready for your students.
  • During Advisory every Monday when you are doing the grade check with your students, please make time to actually go through the students grades with them to praise them for hard work and/or help them identify areas where they can improve. Simply printing a grade report for the students and not having a conversation will not benefit the student.
