Officer Workday: Monday, 1/4, 9am-3pm
We will provide lunch for you! We also need to have a meeting to discuss spring semester items when everyone arrives - don't be late.
Please remember your Smart Music assignments are equivalent to the daily rehearsals you are missing with your F2F colleagues. I will be looking at your grades very closely this semester as we approach UIL. Daily practice is a requirement for this course.
We will not have weekly Zoom meetings. Those few KVA students not participating on concerts, make sure to complete all the necessary assignments in your Canvas Modules and stay in touch with me throughout the semester. If you have questions about anything please message me through email, Remind or your Canvas inbox.
Spring Semester Calendars
Parents please try your best not to schedule doctor appointments or other conflicts on your student's after school rehearsal time. We have rehearsals only once a week and this is the only time F2F and KVA students can rehearsal all together. Students who are repeat offenders with unexcused absences will not be permitted to perform on concerts.
Spring Semester Spirit Nights and Fundraising
Parents - every dollar we earn through fundraising, means less money from YOUR pockets for our socials, "Fair Share", instrument maintenance, trips, etc.. Our goal is at least $100 for every Spirit Night - please help make our organization outstanding.
Our spring semester fundraiser will be Texas Roadhouse Bread and Butter Sales. The MRHS Cheerleading team does this in the fall semester and they are very successful. We have placed the bread and butter pick up on Monday, 3/30 close to the Easter holiday to boost sales. Every student needs to sell at least one, and there will be rewards for the highest sellers!
- The 3/30 pickup is in conjunction with our March Spirit Night at Texas Roadhouse. When you pickup your order also pickup dinner that evening!
- We will receive 50% on all Bread and Butter sales!
- We will receive 10% on all Spirit Night and Gift Card purchases!
- Please help us get the word out to friends, family, work and religious colleagues to make this a successful fundraiser!
Do you know of a local business that might want to donate to our Organization or purchase an ad space in our Spring Concert Program?

Solo and Ensemble Pianist Sign Up
If you paid $50 to use a pianist provided by MRHSO, please sign up in the Sign Up Genius located below. There are seventeen ten minute time slots. Whatever time slot you sign up for on Thursday, 1/21 your time will be the same for Thursday, 2/4.
Please be at least 10 minutes early to the Orchestra room to tune and warmup. There are no makeups for these time slots (that's including if your student is sick from school on either day). Please have a pencil for notes and be ready to play your solo!
Concert Wardrobe Pickup
KVA enter through the double doors outback. Board President Ms. Cude and Officers will help students with attire. There are also Solo and Ensemble piano rehearsals happening during this time.
Students will need to provide their own shoes. Men will need their own tuxedo shirt and black socks. Women will need black hosiery and black shoes (flats).
- Thursday, 1/21 at 2:35pm
- Thursday, 2/4 at 2:35pm
Students are to store their wardrobe at home and are responsible for the care of the clothing as stated in the MRHSO Handbook. We have garment bags for student purchase at school for $25. Contact Mr. Katz to purchase a garment bag.
Symphony Orchestra (Full Orchestra)
We will not go to UIL for Full Orchestra this year. All Sinfonia and Camerata students are required to participate. Please look at the schedule located on our website. Chamber will perform one of their String UIL pieces on this concert!
Concert attire will be our formal concert uniforms!
Students will need their formal uniforms to participate. Two weeks prior to the photos I will distribute paperwork for purchasing options.

- Camerata 3:45-4:30pm
- Sinfonia 4:30-5:15pm
