Toni Morrison

Toni Morrison was born February 18,1931.Her parents moved to Ohio to escape southern racism.Toni Morrison was born in Lorain, Ohio .She read a lot as a child her favorite authors were Jane Austen and Leo Tolstoy. At the age of 12,she became Catholic and got the name Anthony and later got the name Toni.At her school she was the only black kid who could read.In 1949 She enrolls at Howard University, the historically black university in Washington, D.C. In 1958 Wofford marries Harold Morrison, a fellow faculty member at Howard. In 1964 She was later Divorce . Later in her life she wrote book like "The Bluest Eye", Song of Solomon" and "Beloved" . She won nearly every book prize possible. In 1957 She became a professor at Princeton University. So Also made a book called "A Mercy" its about a women both slave and mother.

George Washington Carver

George Washington Carver was born July 12 1865 under slavery in Diamond, Missouri. A week after his birth, .Susan Carver George's Mother taught George to read and write, since no local school would accept black students at the time.George was kidnapped along with his mother and sister. After a couple of years he was the first black student at Simpson College. He studied art and music. In 1991 he transferred to Iowa State College to be their first black student.After graduating from Iowa State, Carver decide on a career of teaching and research. His inventions were deal with peanuts like peanut oil and peanut butter. A scientific expert made him ONE of the most famous African-Americans of his time. In 1933-35 George continues to work on a peanut oil massage to cure polio amazing right?!around his time he became good friends with Henry Ford and he builds an elevator for George because George's doctor told him not to climb the stairs required to get into his apartment. In January 5th 1943 He later passed away.
