What's Happening Around the Math Department?
TSI - Advanced Algebra: Proportionality Activity
Students in the TSI class were given an activity on proportions. Each student worked different problems and colored in the corresponding parts based on the instructions. When completed, the class combined all of their sheets together to form a picture of Charlie Brown!
Pre-AP Algebra 2: Harry Potter Duels
Students in the Pre-AP Algebra 2 classes practiced their completing the square skills by participating in a Harry Potter Duel activity. Students worked in groups and each student had to work a problem. Once all students in a group were finished, they combined their answers to see who was dueling where, with what, and who they were dueling against. Students checked their answers with the teacher before rotating to the next duel. Students loved this activity!
Pre-AP Geometry: Mid-Year Project
Students in the Pre-AP Geometry classes were given a project that centered around student-choice! Students were given some guidelines about the project, but were allowed to present their project in whatever way they wanted. Mrs. Mendoza, Mrs. Laven, and Mr. Lewis said students enjoyed being able to use their creativity in their presentations. Students did posters, wrote poems and children's books, made raps and music videos, and even included some stop-animation films in their final products. Students had fun creating projects which demonstrated their understanding of the topics covered this semester.

Congratulations Mrs. Barnell!
Students on campus nominate teachers each month to be featured in the "Teacher Spotlight" during our faculty meetings. Teachers are honored to have students nominate them for an award that showcases their impact on students in their classrooms. Our very own math teacher, Stephanie Barnell, was one of the spotlighted teachers for November!! Congratulations Mrs. Barnell!!

Recycling Club Honors Coach Parr and Mrs. Bullington!
The Recycling Club honors a teacher and their classes each week for the bins with the most cans and bottles collected. Coach Parr and Mrs. Bullington were each awarded the "Traveling Trash Trophy!" Great job promoting recycling in your classrooms!
