Principal's Post - A Weekly Note From Mr. Ortman
Happy Summer!
As we close out what has certainly been the most unusual year of school that we've ever had, I find myself reflecting on some of the positives that have come as a result of distance learning. Those positives are:
- We have the best students! Not only did they put a great deal of effort into their schoolwork, but many of them also took on important responsibilities at home... like helping take care of younger siblings and preparing meals.
- From the first day of the closure until the very last, the Mill Creek teachers never missed a beat. They found new ways to deliver instruction, collaborated with their colleagues more than ever before, and continued to nurture relationships with their students.
- The Mill Creek community was amazing!!! Parents, guardians, and other community members demonstrated tremendous support and cooperation! Many did so while working full time jobs, caring for younger children, and managing the household!
On behalf of Mrs. Adelman, Mrs. Dowd, and all of the staff at Mill Creek, I'd like to thank you for your patience and perseverance throughout the past three months. We hope that you take this time to relax and recharge!
Sincerely,
Shawn M. Ortman
Principal

Hi Creeker Families,
In this last newsletter of the 2019-2020 school year, I wanted to take the opportunity to thank you for welcoming me into your community. Your children are kind, inquisitive, and hard-working and my only regret is not being able to spend more time with them in person.
I have truly enjoyed my time as a Creeker and look forward to hopefully returning again sometime in the coming years. Here's to a summer filled with sun, fun, and less screen time!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Lauren Dowd
Assistant Principal
