March Update

Good afternoon!!

Hope everyone is having a great Saturday. Spring break was a great refresher for everyone and kiddos have been hitting the books hard in this last push to the end of the school year. This time of year gets very chaotic with the end of the year approaching so please take the time with your kiddos to check in on their studies, their grades, and to contact us here at the school if there is anything we can do to help.

Here are a few updates that would be too long for a normal Thrillshare post.

Tutoring

There has been some confusion on tutoring for students who are currently earning a D or F.

I want to clarify the requirements here set out by the handbook.

Any students who is currently earning a D or F is required to attend mandatory tutoring twice a week after school. This is not a punishment but instead a time to receive needed help. They must fill out a tutoring log sheet which can be found outside of Mrs. Nieder's office.

This log sheet is evidence of their tutoring to be able to show coaches and sponsors they are eligible to participate if they meet grade qualifications and eligibility requirements set out by both the Activities Handbook and MSHSAA.

Again, the goal is to help students achieve success in their academics and keep it in the forefront of all we do.

"Think Before You Post"

We are happy to welcome an organization known as Sports in Kansas to present their assembly entitled "Think Before You Post" to Rich Hill. We will be hosting the assembly on April 5th starting at either 1:00 or 1:30 (nailing down an exact time at the moment). Their message focuses on:

-digital citizenship
-online reputation
-viral posting
-cyber bullying
-networking
-communicating w/o your phone
-online criminal activity
-texting & driving
-great for all 6th-12th grade students & staff

These are all areas that I think we all can agree are important for our kiddos to better understand. I am hoping bringing this outside resource will give a different perspective for our kiddos.

4th Mid-Quarter

4th mid-quarter is April 8th. Grade cards to students who are receiving a D or F in any of their classes will have a grade card sent home. Please check in with your kiddo's grades on Canvas in the mean time to see the most up-to-date grades.
