Congratulations to our first "Paws for PRIDE" honorees for April. This month we are focusing on Individual Responsibility. Last week’s winners were: Alex Dietz; Shianyce Silver; Aidan Scholz; Kelly Finn; Colin Chelak; Sarah Cooper & Evan Anderson.

These students were chosen at random to be recognized and celebrated for demonstrating one of our five character traits -Pride, Respect, Individual Responsibility, Determination & Empathy.

Way to go 3rd Grade!!!

As the science motion unit wraps up this year, the third graders spent the bulk of last week completing their third grade assessment. They experimented with motion sensors and created distance verses time graphs using the Logger Lite technology program. They began with concrete motion tasks in Part I and moved to more abstract tasks for Part II. Groups were able to work in cooperative teams to conduct each experiment and engage in academic discussions. They even graphed the motion Figaro-the-dog’s fetching habits! Jared Aigner from Mrs. Wallace’s class commented, “The assessment was fun and challenging. It was fun because we got to work together, but it was hard because we had to graph lots of motion! I got tired moving so much!” Overall, it was a wonderful opportunity to explore, experiment, and discuss SCIENCE! A great job was done by all. Congratulations 3rd Grade!

Morning Drop Off . . .

Please be aware that the school day begins at 8:35 in the classroom. It is my recommendation that children are dropped off no later than 8:30 in order to get to their classrooms for the start of the school day at 8:35. If a student arrives in their classroom beyond 8:35 they are considered tardy. The adults supervising the car-rider drop-off line will be on duty until 8:32. Students dropped off after 8:32 will more than likely not be able to make it to their classrooms on time for the start of the school day at 8:35.

Also, for safety reasons, students arriving to school prior to 8:15 need to be supervised by their parent/caregiver. We ask that they wait with their family member in a parking space until 8:15.

Finally, those driving their students to school, please utilize the car-rider drop-off line. For the safety of students and staff, children are not to be dropped off in the rear of the school, across Lower Barness Road or in the bus-loading/unloading area by their parents.

A Thank you from Mrs. Williams . . .

Mrs. Williams would like to thank all of the students who participated in her Winter Enrichment Class - Yoga - and the Home and School Association for their support. The class recently ended on Monday, March 31st. Students grades 1-6 displayed fun, focus and flexibility in individual, partner and group yoga poses.

WAY TO GO . . .

On Tuesday evening, 55 of our fifth and sixth grade students competed in the Bucks County Reading Olympics. After competing in three separate rounds of competition, our teams earned enough points to bring home all red ribbons. Thank you to all the parents who devoted their evening to this event. We look forward to promoting this experience in the coming weeks to our current fourth and fifth grade students. We will provide a list of next year’s books for our students to begin reading over the summer. Congratulations to all our Olympians!
