A Moving Story About Gratitude

Let Us Be Grateful

Practicing gratitude and being grateful are keys to a successful life!

During this pandemic, we are finding ourselves facing many times of uncertainty. Some of us do not know whether we are coming or going.

During this times of uncertainty, we ask that you demonstrate an attitude of gratitude. Let us be grateful for all that we have. Let us be grateful for each other. We are better at this task of educating our boys and girls TOGETHER!!

Let us be examples to our boys and girls of what it means to demonstrate gratitude.

Gratitude is the best medicine. It heals your mind, your body, and your spirit. It attracts more things to be grateful for.

Leader in Me is WHO WE ARE!

This month, BES boys and girls will be working on Habit 5! Habit 5 is "Seek First to Understand, Then to Be Understood." People often think of communication as talking, but it's also listening and receiving feedback. The best communicator is not the person who is the most eloquent speaker, but it is the person who has the ability to listen, process the information, and use it to make decisions that are in the best interest of the team.

What kind of communicator are you?

Please speak to your child(ren) about this habit.

February Updates

Morning Drop Off

Please remember that the staff parking lot is not a place to pull up and drop off your students. Please arrive in a timely manner so that you are able to stay in your car and go through the car rider line. Pulling through the end bus gate, going through the staff parking lot, and sending students unattended inside the building is not safe. Our buses enter and exit that gate and other visitors exit the gate as well.

Please adhere to this procedure as asked. Our car rider line moves very quickly and efficiently. We thank you kindly for understanding.

COVID-19 Reminders:

When students have been exposed to a COVID positive person at any point, please make sure the school is informed immediately by calling Mrs. Jones.

When students have tested positive for COVID, please make sure the school is notified immediately.

Students who are positive has to quarantine for a full 10 days. These students may return on Day 11. Mrs. Jones will communicate the start date of the quarantine with you when the school is notified.

BES will continue to encourage students to wear masks while walking throughout the hallway, on the school bus, in Guided Reading small groups, and while waiting to be picked up in the car rider line.

**If you have any questions and/or concerns regarding our COVID-19 procedures, please feel free to contact Mrs. Jones and/or the front office.**

Counselor's Corner by Mrs. Watson

Happy February! In guidance this month I am finishing up personal safety. If you signed permission for your child to participate in this lesson, your child is learning about keeping themselves safe. Please discuss the safety rules with your children. Also, if there are any supplies or support you need don’t hesitate to reach out to me. Coming up in guidance in March is Career Awareness.

I am very fortunate this semester to have Mr. Mock, a practicum student from Georgia Southern University. He is learning to be a School Counselor and he will be at BES on Thursdays and Fridays working with students. Mr. Mock is a certified educator and I am thankful to have his assistance.

From the Desk of Nurse Rebecca....
