El Dorado Monday Memo
Week 15 December 2nd, 2019
#ToroFamily
Welcome Back everyone! I hope you all had a restful and restorative time with family and friends this past week. We now enter the period I am candidly calling the "Between 2 Breaks" time. (I think we need to make a show a la Zac Galifianakis) Winter has seemed to arrive just like that and it looks like it is going to be a wet and rainy week this week. ALL TEACHERS, please review our EDMS Student Monday Memo with each period to review our Rainy Day Procedures. (slides 5 & 6). Please feel free to add anything we forgot.
As we look ahead this week, we will be meeting together for our staff meeting on Wed, 12/4. In preparation for that meeting please be looking at/planning for what your unit/theme/subject or project will be for the upcoming weeks and bring your information to our meeting. We will be spending our time working together to develop PROGRESS CHARTS for the time "Between 2 Breaks". Our goal will be to get these completed in the next couple meetings and deploy them ASAP to help students get familiar with what our goals are for them and to aid them in describing their learning and how they can get better. There are templates for progress charts available, let us know if you would like one ahead of Wednesday's meeting.
It is that time of year again...the 12 Days of Chrismukkah are upon us. Starting this Thursday we will have 12 days filled our holiday cheer, festivities and fun. Please be sure to check out the 12 Days of Chrismukkah calendar here for more information and how you can participate in the funtivities!

12/2 Be a Friend
This month we will be discussing friendship. Friendship, connection, and support are fundamental needs for positive mental health -, especially during the holidays. In healthy relationships, people feel safe, respected and accepted for who they are. In unhealthy relationships, people may feel anxious, confused, uncertain and even unsafe.
Ask students: what kind of things can we do to begin and keep friendships? Why is it important to have good friends? What are some signs of an unhealthy friendship?
