Spring has Sprung
Dear LLC Families
Spring is an amazing time for growth. Not only will you see the grass getting greener and the flowers begin to bloom, but you are likely to notice some changes in your children as well. Although no child grows at a perfectly steady rate throughout their period of childhood, and all children differ in development, some research says that spring is a season for growth. Weeks or months of slightly slower growth alternate with mini "growth spurts" in most children and some kids actually tend to grow a bit faster in the spring than during other times of the year! Interesting information but not a hard rule of course. Your child is unique and will grow at his or her own pace.
I hope you enjoy this well-deserved break. Be safe, have fun, and take in the weather! We look forward to returning strong with you on April 5th.

Health & Safety Topics: Playground Safety
Each year there are more than 200,000 emergency visits for children under the age of 14 due to playground-related injuries. When planning your playground trips, keep the following safety tips in mind:
- Before your child begins to play, take a scan of the area. Remove any potential barriers in the way of free play. If temperatures are high, give the equipment a touch to make sure it's not too hot.
- Use playground equipment that is right for your child’s age and encourage your child to use guardrails to help prevent falls.
- Check that playgrounds have soft materials like wood chips, sand, or mulch near fall zones areas such as by slides, swings, or climbing materials.
- Have your child wear sneakers and sunscreen, if needed.
