Science~
- As scientists, we started our next unit called Pebbles, Sand, and Silt. We learned that Geologists study rocks.
- As geologists, we studied 3 different types of rocks and used adjectives to describe each rock.
- We completed an experiment with the rocks by rubbing two similar rocks together and two different rocks together and documented our findings. We determined that some rocks are soft and make a lot more sand when rubbed together. Other rocks are more solid and strong which makes them harder to rub together and they make less sand.
- We learned that when rocks rub together that is called weathering.
Other Activities~
- Charlie McGroarty was our Star Student of the Week! We enjoyed learning more about Charlie.
- We attended a "Traditions of India" Assembly. We learned about the culture of India including their Bharatanatyam dance which is an Indian classical dance..
