Happify Daily - Who Wouldn't want to be a little more influential?

Whether it’s at the workplace or at home, we all strive to be a positive influence on others. But how do we really convince others to change their minds—not to mention their behaviors? This video illustrates some extremely practical and proven concepts that will help us do exactly that. These concepts are derived from Dr. Jonah Berger’s book, Invisible Influence: The Hidden Forces that Shape Behavior.

New information...

Friendly reminder that IPDPs are due October 1st, 2016. The new form is available on the plaza > forms > staff evaluation > online evaluation system. At this point we are asking you to complete only the Plan Development portion (first three fields), including the SMART goal (s). Please think about this SMART goal like an IEP goal - it should be specific, measurable, attainable, realistic and timely. We want to avoid very general goals since those will give us little to discuss about your progress over time. Once you have the IPDP proposal completed, you should click "save & submit to supervisor". At this point, either Amy or Annette will review and approve your plan.

Attorney Contacts - how to handle:

If/when you are approached by an attorney regarding any child, student, teacher, paraprofessional, parent, etc. you are to indicate that you cannot have a conversation until speaking with your supervisor. Inform the sector coordinator immediately, before speaking with the attorney, whether or not there is a release. When you contact your coordinator be prepared to share specifics about the request and the coordinator will contact Beth Hansen (our attorney) regarding how to proceed.

If an attorney arrives at an IEP meeting unannounced, the IEP meeting should be rescheduled so that our attorney can also be present. You can say to the attorney "I have representation and have been advised to not participate without her present". This information has been shared with our LEA administrators last spring and they are also prepared to reschedule IEP meetings. Please call your coordinator if you have any questions at that moment.
