Gap admits to the use of sweatshops.
Paul Presseler, the new president of gap, admits that in the past they have used sweatshops. He now is revolking contacts and factories that want to use sweatshops for Gap.
As of 2004 he has turned down 136 factories.

LOCATION
Sweatshops for Gap are located on the Indian Sub Continent, North and South East Asia, Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean, and South America
PRODUCTS MADE
Gap make chinos- a cotton clothed fabric, also makes jeans, shirts, and jackets.
CONDITIONS
Conditions in the factories are horrible. Gap uses physical punishment, verbal abuse, improper use of child labor. there is poor ventilation, inadequate safety equipment, and insufficient access to drinking water inside the factories.
SWEATSHOP WORKERS
Most workers are under the age of 14, being paid below minimum wage, and have to work 7 day weeks to keep a job.
INDUSTRIAL REVOLUTION AFFECT
Gap figured out that they can use many workers inside factories and can pay workers less.
SOLUTIONS TO SWEATSHOPS
You can pass factory acts that make all factories treat works fairly and pay at least minimum wage. Make sure all factories are in working condition.
WHAT DID I LEARN
Most of the big/small name brands and corporations uses sweatshops to make their products. Gap uses harsh treatment to its sweatshop workers.
AM I CONCERNED
Im concerned with the treatment of the works and their lives, but the products have to be made somehow.
