Respiration and Photosynthesis
Comparing and Contrasting
Respiration is defines as the transport of oxygen from the outside air to the inside of your body. Which is also how you breathe.
Cellular respiration is defines as the metabolic process by which an organism obtains energy by reacting oxygen with glucose to give water, carbon dioxide and 38ATP.
Photosynthesis is a process used by plants and other organisms to convert light energy, normally from the sun, into chemical energy that can later be turned to fuel.
- happens in chloroplasts
- in the presence of light
- input:carbon dioxide and water
- out put: glucose and oxygen
- energy stored
- all the time
- input: glucose and water
- out put: carbon dioxide and water
- chemical bonds
- energy released
