What's News At Magee?

World Champion at Magee!
I bet you didn’t know it, but a World Champion of Showmanship walks among the students at Magee. On any given school day, he can be found out on the playground with his friends. It is what he does at home that sets him apart from his classmates.
Ryan is a two time World Champion - in Showmanship and in Lead Line, a Reserve World Champion in Ranch Riding, and a Grand Champion at the Waukesha County Fair this past summer. Ryan’s first World Championship in Lead Line happened when he was just 5 years old. Lead Line is when a child is on the horse and an adult walks the horse through some moves around the arena. The World Championship in Showmanship this past summer, earned at the American Ranch Horse World Show in Cloverdale, Indiana, involved Ryan leading his own horse through a series of maneuvers in the arena that included patterns and an inspection from judges! His awards were a belt buckle and a neck ribbon for Sugar!
Ryan has been competing since he was three years old! He is coached by his mom, Brenda, and his mentor, Samantha Llanas. Samantha owns “Sugar”, the horse that Ryan worked with when he earned his most recent World Championship. Ryan spends at least three evenings a week riding at home. On the weekends he rides more. His home has an indoor riding arena so he can ride horses all year round. Ryan also enjoys riding his horses outside near his home. Ryan has two horses named Scotty and Jack, and a pony named Raggie.
Ryan says he enjoys traveling.

Homecoming Parade!
Help Represent Magee in the 2017 Homecoming Parade!
Magee has been invited to have students walk in Kettle Moraine’s Homecoming parade this year! The parade is on Friday, October 6th at 5:30 p.m. The parade route goes from Kettle Moraine High School, through downtown Wales by the bike trail, then back to the high school.
Any families who wish to walk with Magee in the parade can gather at Wales Elementary in the gym at 4:45pm that day. Parking will be available in the Wales Elementary lot. Parents are required to accompany elementary school students who are walking. At 5pm we will all walk over together to the parade line-up in the high school parking lot. A banner will be supplied for us and we will even get to toss trinkets to parade spectators! Please wear your Magee or KM spiritwear if you have some. Consider joining us for this fun event!
That afternoon/evening, families may also choose to enjoy fun kids activities at DECA's Bash on the Grass from 3-7pm near the football field, the KM Music Parents Chili Mac and Cheese Dinner from 4-7pm in the high school cafeteria, and of course, the Homecoming football game at 7pm. Come on out to experience the fun Homecoming festivities in Kettle Moraine!
Kettle Moraine - Parent Resource Network
The KM Parent Resource Network (KM PRN) is a parent-volunteer organization dedicated to YOU! Our purpose is to provide “continuing education” about the hot topics that are challenging our families today. Each year we survey the KM parent community about what you want to learn about, so all of our events are based on your feedback. We were founded on the mission of empowering proactive parenting in order to create an environment for our children to become healthy, responsible citizens. We support partnerships between parents, schools, and community by providing educational resources, parent networking, and informational events.

Birthday Treats
Can food treats come to school in baggies to be sent home with students? No, food treats will of any kind are not covered under the policy.
Can I send a delivery to school for my child's birthday (balloons, flowers, etc)? If a delivery does come to school it cannot include latex of any kind. The student will be able to come to the office to see what is delivered, but the delivery will be kept in the office until the end of the day as to not disrupt the school day. A balloon bouquet in a room of students can definitely make it hard to focus on the lesson!
