Where Learning Takes Flight

A Note from Mrs. Tallent

Wow...this week was busy! Thank you to all of our volunteers who came to our Volunteer Tea and let us have an opportunity to celebrate and thank you for all that you do to make our school successful! Our fourth graders had a great field trip to Austin and our second graders put on a fabulous musical performance! There were other field trips in the mix and our Health and Safety Presentations. A huge THANK YOU to our PTO for setting up all of our Health and Safety Speakers! We had firefighters, dentists, veterinarians, fitness experts, water safety and snake much learning and it was great!

This week we have Super Kid's Day on Friday!!! We look forward to having parents on campus for this event and ask that all visitors come through the front doors since construction will not allow us to check--in outside like we have done with other events. Please make sure you bring your ID so we can get you checked in quickly and out to enjoy the SKD festivities!

There will be water refilling stations for students to refill their water bottles throughout their SKD time! If you have any questions about SKD, please reach out to Mrs Whitmore at

Placement Considerations for Next Year

Creating class lists each year is a thorough process that takes into consideration students' social/emotional and academic needs, students' learning styles, peer relations, and academic programming. Each child is placed with much care and thoughtful consideration to help him/her grow and have a successful school year. Current teachers, relevant support staff, and administrators provide input into students' class placements. Because there are so many factors that need to be met, it is not possible for us to honor specific teacher requests from parents. We truly believe that each and every one of the teachers at FCE would give nothing but their very best to support your child and provide him/her with a positive and productive school experience. If you have any information that you feel would be helpful for us to know about your child's needs for next year, we encourage you to have a conversation with your child's teacher and fill out the FCE Placement Considerations for Next Year Form we have provided below before May 6th. Please do not email specific teacher requests for your child. Thank you for your understanding and trusting that we always have your child's best interest in mind.
