Following Spring Break, Villa Park High School will return to one lunch. We will utilize our formerly "late lunch" which begins at 11:35 am. Please see the new schedule.
Counseling Office Important Dates
April 14- *SBAC Testing: Math
April 21- *SBAC Testing: ELA
April 21- Open House (Virtual)
April 28- *SBAC Testing: Science
*11th grade Students will be tested in areas of math, ELA, and science. Graduating seniors beginning with the 2021-22 school year will receive academic recognition for demonstrating proficiency in ALL content areas while maintaining a GPA of 3.5+

AVID Applications for 2021-2022 School Year
The AVID Program is designed for students who:
- have a G.P.A. between 2.5-3.5 (depending on grade level).
- have been identified as having high academic potential but may not be achieving up to that potential.
- have the desire to gain admission to a 4-year university directly from high school.
- are willing to challenge themselves to be a disciplined student.
- are NOT chronic or serious discipline problems.
- do NOT have unsatisfactory attendance patterns.
- are willing to sign the AVID contract and commit to the program for at least one year.
What does AVID stand for, you ask? Advancement Via Individual Determination.
AVID:
Teaches skills and behaviors for academic success
Provides intensive support with tutorials and strong student/teacher relationships
Creates a positive peer group for students
Develops a sense of hope for personal achievement gained through hard work and determination.

Don't forget to fill out the FAFSA/Dream Act. ALL students will get free tuition to a community college, regardless of income, but only if you fill out your financial aid applications. Griselda can also help with you with that- regardless of where you actually attend in the fall.
