Kimberley Kemmis, Principal
From the Principal's Desk
I can't tell you how wonderful it is to again have little people up and down the halls, filling the classrooms and playground here at McKinley. We are off to a great start! I am always amazed at just how quickly young learners adapt to a new routine. I want to send out a giant thank you to all of our parents, grandparents, siblings and other big people who are making sure our students arrive and are picked up in a smooth and organized manner.
As we settle in to our school routine, please continue to check the school website, Facebook page and these newsletters for updates regarding what's happening here at McKinley as well as ways you can get involved with your child's education.

Counselor's Corner
If you have not yet had the opportunity to meet our school counselor Mrs Ormachea (Mrs. "O") you are in for a treat. We are so thankful that she is part of our McKinley School family. Please use the link below to read a letter from her explaining a little more about what she does for our kiddos here at McKinley.
Purposeful People

Courage
This month we’re talking about the virtue of Courage – to help our children be courageous and learn to conquer things that frighten or scare them. Children need reassurance that fear is one of our feelings and to help them understand that it’s okay to feel afraid. Courage isn’t fearlessness, but instead our ability to choose the right thing even when we are scared! The definition we will be talking about is:
Courage: to choose what is good, right, and kind even when it is hard or scary.
