Eligibility to Vote
- At least 18 Years Old
- Must be a Citizen of the United States
- Must have been a resident of the United States 30 days prior to election
- Must NOT be serving a sentence for a felony
- Registered to Vote in a State
How You Can Register to Vote
In order to register for voting, you must have met the eligibility requirements to vote and applicant must have completed the voting registration application. Voting Registration Application must include the following:
- Full Name
- Residential Address
- Date of Birth
- Citizenship Status
- By Mail
- By Email
- In Person
- By Fax
Registration Deadlines in North Carolina
The Voting Registration deadline in North Carolina is 25 days before election day.
Military, Overseas, and Out of State Registration
Even if you are a resident of North Carolina but is out of state at the time you can still vote! North Carolina offers voting registration to individuals for those who are:
- In the Military and is stationed outside of North Carolina
- Overseas during Election Residents who are not present
- The Federal Post Card Application (FPCA)
- The Federal Write-In Absentee Ballot (FWAB)
- By Mail
- Fax
