Indiana K9 Search and Recovery
Indiana K9 Search and Recovery provides missing persons search and rescue services to law enforcement agencies and community members. As trained, civilian K-9 teams, their volunteer handlers and search dogs specialize in human remains recovery, scent-specific trailing, area search and water recovery. They are based in central Indiana and respond to SAR calls throughout the Midwest.
Talan and Rylee - Dogs of the Hour!
We'll meet two year old Talan, a very rare long-haired Weimaraner and her handler, Cathy, who has been part of INK9 for 5 years. Talan is cross trained in both mantrailing, which is smelling an article and then following the smell to the person, and HRD, human remains detection.
We'll also see Rylee, a 4 month old black labrador puppy handled by Shannon, who has been a part of INK9 for 2 years. Rylee really can't do much yet, but is being trained in obedience at this time. She will be doing both HRD and mantrailing in the future. She will be able to show to the audience that even a very young dog can be trained.
