This month's newsletter is filled and has a primary focus on our upcoming registration for the 2022-2023 school year. Whether you are a current or incoming Raider, there is information provided here for you. We want to help make this registration process as smooth as possible for everyone. If you are new to NFHS, we are so excited to welcome you!

Important Dates to Know:

Spring 2022 Registration Timeline

NFHS Feeder Schools: Liberty MS (LMS); Forsyth MS (NFMS)


  • Rise Up Raider - SAT, Feb 5th from 9:00 am -12:00 pm
  • Elective Portal and Course Waiver Opens - TUE, Feb 15th at 8:00 am
  • Advanced Placement Night (Rising 9th grade) - TUE, Feb 15th at 6:30 pm
  • Advanced Placement Night (Rising 10th-12th) - WED, Feb 16th at 6:30 pm
  • Elective Portal and Course Waiver Closes - TUE, Feb 23rd at 4:00 pm

ALL CURRENT RAIDERS:

FEBRAURY 10th - 17th counselors will be coming by all English classes to help with the course registration process. If you have questions, this will be the perfect time to ask your counselor.

Summer Internship Opportunity - Georgia Power

Georgia Power's line crews (distribution and transmission), network underground and metering services play an integral part in Georgia's economy. Hospitals, government agencies, schools, businesses, and individuals rely on lineworkers and other essential workers to provide reliable electric service. If you're looking for a position in which you can make a difference and serve Georgians, consider becoming a lineworker or metering tech, to name a few, with Georgia Power.


Program Details:

• This is a paid internship: $15.00/hour (there is no overtime or mileage reimbursement).

• The program is approximately 8 weeks, with a preferred start time in June.

• Schedule: Monday through Friday – 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. (may vary based on work location and team)

• Work location: TBD – will be based on candidate’s home location. o Note: there will be a reporting location, but the student will ride with crew members to various work locations daily. The student should be prepared to be out with crews most days and return to the office location by 3:30.

• Every aspect of the internship will be closely supervised and evaluated by a full-time Georgia Power employee.

Youth Scholarship - Sawnee EMC

Forsyth County Education Foundation Scholarships

Forsyth County Education Foundation works with donors who would like to honor or memorialize a loved one, assist an FCS staff member with education costs, and/or house their scholarship with a fund that provides assistance with marketing, selection, and recognition of the scholarship and its winner.


In 2022, the Wayne Jones Memorial Scholarship was created and available for seniors - due March 15th

TRANSCRIPT REMINDER:

To request official transcripts, students must create an account and submit requests through Parchment. Official transcripts cost $6 to be sent and will be sent electronically directly to the schools you choose!

Senior Class News & Senior Dues:

Visit the Senior Class News Page for important senior updates and date information. Remember to pay your senior dues! These can be paid online to Balfour and will cover the cost of cap and gown, diploma cover, graduation expenses, facility rentals, & senior events.
