What is the internet?

The Internet is made up of multiple networks that are connected together. The internet is a network of networks that consists of millions of private, public, academic, business, and government networks, of local to global scope, that are linked by a broad array of electronic, wireless and optical networking technologies.

What is the need for IP addressing and the role of DNS servers

  1. You browse the website
  2. Website sends packets of data to the DNS
  3. DNS then gets the IP address and sends this to the server
  4. The server then sends the data back your your IP address
