February Newsletter
Bath Public School
Welcome February!
During Literacy week, our Bath PS SAC committee held a fundraiser with our community book store, Books on Main. A total of $555.00 has been donated back to our school for books and literacy materials. Thanks so much to Books on Main for your partnership and to our community for this support.
Looking ahead, we will be celebrating Black History Month throughout February with a focus on honouring the legacies of Black Canadians. It is important for us to understand the long history and importance of the Black community to the development and enrichment of Canadian society. Black Canadians from many different cultural backgrounds have made important contributions to the development of education, medicine, culture and human rights throughout Canada’s history. As well, we need to recognize how systemic oppression continues to create challenges and barriers. We encourage all of our school community to not only continue to learn and listen, but to also promote positive change for Black students, staff and families.
Have a wonderful month of February!

Updates from KFLAPH
Rapid Antigen Tests
As announced on January 12, 2022, the Ministry of Education, in partnership with Ministry of Health and Ministry of Government and Consumer Services, is providing publicly funded schools and licensed child-care programs with rapid antigen test kits for symptomatic students, children and staff. Students and staff will continue to receive a package of two rapid antigen tests proactively, for at-home use if they develop symptoms. If your family needs more, please reach out to the school.
Please follow these instruction when using the Rapid Antigen Test Kit .
Masking Changes
Beginning on Thursday February 3, Public Health is relaxing some masking restrictions. Masks are no longer required outside at recess for all elementary students K-8. Students are welcome to make this choice to wear a mask when going outside for play. We encourage families to pack extra masks during these winter months as they often get wet.

Bus Delays and Cancellations
Winter weather may result in bus cancellations or delays. Families should ensure they are signed up to receive direct notifications, either by email, or Tri-Board’s app. Delays and cancellations are also posted to Tri-Board’s Twitter account. Please have a back-up plan and transportation home if your child's bus is cancelled. For some riders the morning bus number is different than the afternoon. Please check this carefully to ensure students have a way home at the end of the day if one of the routes is cancelled. A reminder that supervision of students is not available until 8:55 am. Please do not drop off your child at school before that time.
