A Message from Mrs. Caudill
Our Amerman community is amazing! Our Bobcats jumped and jumped to help the animals in Australia that were impacted by the devastating wildfires. As a result, we raised $5896.72! Thank you for your support and helping us teach kindness and thinking of the world around us.
With Gratitude,
Devon Caudill

“The Hidden Impact of Screen Time on the Developing Brain”
March 2, 2020
4:15 PM - 5:45 PM, Northville High School, Auditorium
You are invited to join us on Monday, March 2, 2020 to hear Katey McPherson, a well-known educator, speaker and advocate for protecting the health and wellness of our kids, particularly as it relates to the digital landscape of today’s world. This presentation is open to Teachers, Administrators, Parents, and ALL interested Community Members on “The Hidden Impact of Screen Time on the Developing Brain.”
In this presentation, you will learn how neuroscientists, sociologists and psychologists continue to process the incoming data on what is the exact impact of screen time on the developing brain. Katey provides keen insights into the types of screen time as well as how trusted adults and parents can guide and mentor students both at school and at home. She will discuss how we can collectively support the future of America by stepping into the digital divide instead of creating a larger one.
We hope to see you at this powerful learning session!
(Katey McPherson is also our Keynote and Breakout Session speaker at Parent Camp on Saturday, February 29, 2020. Hope you can join us there too!)

February Focus- Kindness! Habit 5: Seek First to Understand Then to be Understood
Every month Amerman Focuses on a new theme and Leader in Me Habit of the Month. The focus for the month of February is kindness and our Habit of the Month is Habit 5: Seek First to Understand Then to be Understood.
Leader in Me sets out in Habit 5 to change the way we interact with people by changing the way that we listen to them. In order to reach a Win-Win situation with others, we must be able to see and understand their point of view. Habit 5 isn’t just about purely learning to listen to the other person though. It’s essentially the culmination of the techniques in the first 4 habits. These habits need to be in place and understood for you to be truly able to understand and then be understood.
If you would like to recognize your child for displaying kindness at home by using Habit 5, please fill out the following Bobcat Boost and return it to your child's teacher.
