Camera App
The camera app is one of the best features of the iPad. It’s easy to use and no longer do you have to worry about carrying around a digital camera. The possibilities of using the camera app in the classroom are endless! Be creative!

- Have students “show” you what they learned by using pictures or video.
- Use with a Math Lesson when studying different shapes. Have students take a walk around school and snap pics of different shapes they see.

Activity #1
- Open Camera App.
- Focus camera on a particular object/person.
- Experiment with the exposure by clicking on several different areas of your iPad screen noting how the lighting changes.
- Enable zoom feature by pinching two fingers together on the screen.
- Tap on HDR and take a picture by tapping on white circle. Turn off HDR.
- Shoot multiple pictures of an object/person by holding down the white button.
- Swipe your finger up or down to change camera to video or square photo feature.
- Tap on camera in upper right hand corner to enable front facing camera.
Activity #2
- Choose a photo from your camera roll.
- Tap on “Edit” in the upper right hand corner. Notice how your editing tools appeared on the bottom of your photo.
- Rotate your image 360 degrees.
- Tap on “Enhance”.
- Tap on “Filters” and choose a filter that best suits your picture.
- Tap on the filter you like and then tap on “Apply” in the upper right hand corner.
- Tap on “Crop” and crop your photo by placing finger on outer edge of gray box and dragging cropping tool. When satisfied with picture, tap “crop” in upper right hand corner.
- Tap on “Save” in upper right hand corner.
Activity #3
• Go to Settings > Photos & Camera. Turn on the Photo Grid.
• Open the iPad Camera & take 6-8 photos.
• Open the Photos app.
• Tap the + in the top left corner to begin creating an album for your new pictures.
• Type in a name for the album and tap Save.
• Tap on all of the photos you want to add. You will see a blue checkmark in the corner of the selected photos.
• Select Done and you will see the new album with the photos you selected.
• Create albums for any other photos you want to organize.
Camera Features
The Camera App not only takes still photos but it is also a nice video camera. It's a great way to capture all of the exciting things happening at school and your classroom.
Activity #4
- Open the Camera App and slide to the video option.
- Notice that the shutter button has now turned to red indicating you are in video mode.
- Tap the camera icon at the top of the screen to reverse to the front facing camera. Great for "selfie" videos or recording reflections on performance or to share information.
- Tap the camera icon to go back to rear facing.
- Tap the red Record Button to begin creating a video a brief video about your class.
- When the camera begins recording, you will see the Recording Timer begin counting up the timing of the video.
- Tap the red Record Button again to stop recording.
- Go to the Photos app to view your video.
Upload your video of your recording to your Seesaw iPad Cohort Class.
