Conflicts Between Miners

Miners:
Miners in 1850 California were competing and fighting for America’s beauty, gold. Miner’s achieved their goal by cheating, robbing, and sending foreigners way to reduce the competition. This was called the Foreign Miners Tax, which imposed a tax of $20 a month on foreign miners. This made it easier for white males to get a hand on this million-dollar product. Because of the tax, many Chinese miners decided leaving the rush was easier and much more worth it than staying. Since the Chinese moved, they started creating their own restaurants and businesses in San Francisco. This later became known as Chinatown.
