GIRLS STEAM & SPORTS
In the fall, many of our female athletes, and young ladies who were recommended as those that would be interested in athletics and STEAM, participated in a panel discussion led by women professionals from the Bon Secours Wellness Arena. On March 1st, some of our young ladies that attended that session were able to attend one of the SEC Women's Basketball Tournament games at Bon Secours Wellness Arena in Greenville. Our Wildcat ladies were able to watch the first game of the tournament (Texas A&M vs Vanderbilt). During media timeouts and throughout the event, students from different schools were asked to participate in STEAM related activities. Our young ladies had a great time and even got to meet a few of the athletes that were present! We were so excited about this opportunity for our Lady Wildcats to see collegiate athletes in action and participate in activities designed for them.
AMAZING MATH!
Seventh graders in Mrs. Meadors' math classes have been exploring the proportional relationships between diameter, radius, and circumference of a circle. They have been actively engaged in these lessons all week. Great work, Wildcats!
PARENTS of 8th GRADERS
Attention 8th grade parents! For the past few weeks, our counselors have been scheduling Individual Graduation Plans (IGP) conferences. An IGP conference is a meeting with the student, the parent, and a counselor to discuss possible career opportunities and options before going to high school. If they haven't already, each 8th grader will receive a letter with the date and time for their conference. Please ask your child if he/she received a letter with this information.
SCHOOL DISTRICT CALENDAR
MOBILE PHONE POLICY
Students should know that cell phones, headphones, earbuds (for non-academic purposes), and other similar devices cannot be visible and should be placed out of sight upon entering Clinton Middle School. These devices are not allowed at any time that students are in the building between the hours of 7:30am and 3:45pm. Students who violate this policy will receive consequences and repeat offenders will receive out of school suspensions. Please review this policy with your child. Parents should know that if they need to communicate a message to a student at Clinton Middle School, they may do so by calling (864) 833-0807.
PHYSICAL ALTERCATIONS at SCHOOL
Fights and all other physical altercations pose a very serious threat to students and staff members. Maintaining a safe environment for everyone is our top priority. Effective immediately, any student involved in a fight or physical altercation will be suspended from school for a minimum of 10 days and will automatically be recommended for expulsion. Additionally, any student that instigates a fight or physical altercation will face the same consequence of 10 days of out of school suspension and will also be recommended for expulsion. Please keep in mind that students can receive these same consequences for making threats to fight, jump, or harm others. All of this has been communicated to students repeatedly since the first day of school.
