Readers Workshop: Conferring and Seesaw

Teachers can use the video recording tool in Seesaw to record their students reading during conferring. Record the entire conference including asking comprehension questions and any strategy teaching. Keep all video conferences in a reading folder or reading conference folder. No more having to remember how they read or what your post it said. Share this with your team to ask other teachers for ideas on how to help grow your students reading. Share with parents, so that they can see how their child is growing.

Global Day of Design

What is the Global Day of Design all about?

Students need to make, build, and tinker. The Global Day of Design is one-day that focuses on using the Design Thinking process in school. Our goal for the Global Day of Design is to inspire a transformation in schools around the world to incorporate design into an every day practice with our students.

Last year over 40,000 students from 450 schools (and four continents) participated. We are hoping to grow even more this year!

Students react to being called important

You're the Reason I Come to School

Watch the video above (grab tissues). I love this idea to tell our students. As a coach, I feel this way about teachers. They are the reason I come to school each day.

Keepin' It Real

The other morning as I was dropping Micah off at daycare, all he wanted to do was play, but none of the kids were playing yet. I could tell he didn't want me to leave yet. A minute later two kids came running up wanting to play trains with him. My heart just overflowed.

It made me think how, as a parent, I totally want Micah to learn, but I really want him to feel included, loved, and safe. It made me reflect on how I make sure our students feel this is as well.

And, who's ready for summer with this picture? Am I right? ;)
