Liberty Creek Trail Guide
December 4th, 2023
Liberty Creek Families,
As we enter the holiday season, there's a palpable magic in the air, especially when seen through the eyes of children. Their excitement, wonder, and joy are a testament to the spirit that surrounds us during this time of year.
It's a season not just for celebration but also for reflection. Let's take a moment to embrace the magic that children bring to our lives and the genuine warmth that comes from being part of a caring community like ours. The holidays offer a unique opportunity to cultivate the values of giving, gratitude, and unity.
Wishing you and your loved ones a holiday season filled with the magic of children's laughter, the warmth of community, and the joy that comes from giving.
Happy Holidays!
Mrs. Alsaker

IMPORTANT MESSAGE IF YOU USE OUR VALET SYSTEM
Just a few reminders to families when utilizing our valet system
Our valet service operates from 8:45 AM to 9 AM on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday (9:45 to 10:00 AM on Thursday). Please note that our valet attendants begin assisting children promptly at 9 AM in the classroom (10AM on Thursdays). Arriving after this time means you will need to park and personally accompany your child to sign them in, as they will be considered tardy. We ask that you DO NOT drop your child off and leave. To ensure a smooth drop-off experience, we recommend arriving at 8:45 AM to avoid any inconvenience.
With the recent winter weather, we ask families to leave your house earlier as the road conditions may be challenging and difficult, giving you EXTRA time.
We need your cooperation and support. Parents, stay in your vehicle during drop off and pick up. If you need to help buckle your child into their car seat, please pull up to the end of the sidewalk, near the staff parking lot (please do not stop in the middle of far lane, park the car, and get out as this creates a safety hazard.
If your child needs assistance, please use the middle or far lane, as our valet attendants can help. If you use the lane closest to the sidewalk, ALL students need to exit the vehicle on their own. If your child(ren) need additional time getting out, please park and walk them over or use the middle or far lane.
All Things Attendance
Attendance Celebrations
In an effort to recognize and celebrate regular attendance in a spontaneous and fun way, we will begin to implement a school-wide recognition system around attendance. These moments of celebration not only serve to motivate students and instill a love of being at school, but also contribute to our continued efforts in creating a positive learning environment and sense of community. This past Friday, December 1st, we introduced this concept to our students with a fun "Wheel of Names" spinner during lunch.
Tips for Returning from Winter Break
As we cherish the holiday season, we wanted to take a moment to remind you of the importance of regular attendance for your child's educational journey. When students are absent, they miss more than just a day of school; they miss valuable opportunities for learning, engaging with peers, and building essential skills for their future success. Each day at school contributes to their growth, both academically and socially. Your commitment to ensuring your child attends regularly plays a crucial role in their overall development.
While it is still a long way off, here are some attendance tips to ensure a smooth transition back to school after winter break:
Healthy Sleep Habits: Ensure your child gets enough sleep by gradually adjusting their bedtime routine, aiding in a smooth transition back to early mornings.
Prepare Materials: Help your child organize school supplies and ensure they have everything they need for a productive return to school.
Encourage Goal Setting: Collaborate with your child to set achievable goals for the rest of the school year, fostering motivation and a sense of purpose.
Open Communication: Maintain open lines of communication with teachers. Share any concerns or updates that may impact your child's attendance or performance.
Celebrate Small Wins: Acknowledge and celebrate your child's accomplishments, no matter how small. Positive reinforcement can boost their confidence.
Promote a Positive Attitude: Encourage a positive mindset about returning to school by discussing the exciting aspects of learning and reconnecting with friends.
Stay Informed: Keep an eye on school announcements, events, and important dates to stay informed and involved in your child's academic journey.
Please remember that your partnership is crucial in creating a supportive and engaging learning environment. If there are specific concerns or needs, feel free to reach out—we're here to collaborate with you to maximize your child's success.
