William B. Travis August,1809 - March 6,1836
William B. Travis became leader of the Alamo after Jim Bowie died bed sick and protected the Alamo as long as he could as he had promised Bowie. Travis sent a letter to the Texan Government, here is the summary "I will stay at the Alamo, I will not surrender or back down. Victory or death."
