College Credit & AP Exam Scores

The Rules Have Changed!

Beginning in the fall of 2016, all state universities and colleges in Texas will accept a score of 3 for college credit! This is a huge change that really affects YOUR college career.

What this means for you: There is more incentive now than there has ever been for you to study hard and TAKE THE TEST! There are scholarships available to cover or offset the cost of your AP Exams if you qualify. Ask your counselor for more information in the Spring of 2016.

Fine Print: You can use a 3 to count for credit, unless the course is a pre-requisite for harder material in a course that you need to take. Each university will set its own rules for this exception-so you will need to check with the admissions department at the school you are interested in to see exactly how much credit you will be awarded.
